Here's an idea of some of the Friends Committee of Fort Tryon Park projects and programs that already exist
(or could exist and progress with your help):
- Gardening in the Heather Garden and other areas of the park
- Walks: Discovery walks in the park
Daytime walks - flowers, plants, history, geology, birds, moonlight, star-gazing walks; senior pals-accompany senior citizens on walks in the park
- Walk-through and park assessment to target new areas for clean up and beautification
- Tai chi, Yoga, and fitness walks
- Concerts on Sunset Sundays
- Ping-pong games and tournament
- Volleyball games and tournament
- Park kiosk with park map and bulletin board
- Adopt-a-lawn
- Photo exhibit in the park
- Art fair in the park
- Friends of Fort Tryon Park Gazette-editor, production designer, sponsorship
- Membership management and database
- Identity, Visibility and Communication: design business cards, stationery, brochure; public relations,
press liaison; post flyers, mailings
- Fundraising to continue beautification and cleanup; to fund other programs and projects
- Events (Earth Day, other events); planner, permits, food person, distribute flyers, tableperson
- Park safety
